I was a witness to a disastrous movie!! Luckily, Cyrus Broacha was seated besides me. So he sufficed for the entertainment that the filmed was supposed to provide. But I cannot be lucky every time. Nor do I want to watch disastrous films. There needs to be an alternate method that censors out crappy movies.
What bothers me is that for all these years, films have been censored either for depicting crude violence or inept sex, both very superfluously added in. I feel that the filter lies in viewing the problem from an entirely different perspective.
The films should be critically reviewed and rated on the level of stupidity and insanity depicted in them. There must also be default columns where in names of the people who have earlier breached the above conditions (No! it does not include the entire industry) will be mentioned.
The censor board’s decisions will be enacted as per the act passed by the parliament under section 843 sub section 2 which is Censorship to Protect Sanity of Humans (CPSH). As per this act the decision of the censor board will be final and abiding to all. The punishment would range from banning the person for one year to shifting him to Pondicherry film industry.
Alongside stupidity, anything that is plagiarized, story lines that lack basic ‘story’, more than 4 movies of Suniel Shetty, movies that make you ask for a refund or the ones that insult viewer’s intellect should be additional criteria. Also ban:

Music directors like Anu Malik and Pritam (for providing us with inspired versions of sound tracks)
- Storywriters of films like ‘Bhootnath’ and ‘Tashan’,
- My role is different in this film” kind of starlets like Jiah Khan, Koena Mitra and their ilk for acting,
- All Zayed Khan enacted films
- Creatively challenged lyricists who end up writing ‘Babuji, zara dheere chalo’
Censorship, people feel, is obsolete or passe in a civilized, democratic society. The question here is ‘Are we really a civilized society?’ Agreed that people argue on the point that they have to suffer because of those who can’t seem to appreciate the delicacy of filmmaking. Censorship like any other issue treads on thin ice and it is immature to put up absolute ban.
It’s My Opinion that if a person really wants lewd stuff, then give it to them the hard-core way. Why mix subtlety in it? Until we come up with another censorship option, let the ‘level of insanity’ rule
